Conversational French and Cooking
Chantal Duvivier's main hobby has been cooking. Born and raised in France, she soon learnt her mother's and grandmother's "regional cooking secrets" - very useful when raising a family of 4 children, pleasing a gourmet husband, and frequently organising dinner parties! Over the years, when living in England, the "French Conversation class" would invariably end up including "Food Demonstration" . Many a "Soupe à L'Oignon", "Moules au Gratin" and "Tarte Tatin" were tried over and over again in her lively kitchen. A zest of good humour and a good dose of fun were definite ingredients. Now back in France, with frequent visits from old English friends, the demonstration of recipes continued. This is how this combined course developed. This is an invitation to those wishing to improve their basic conversational French (a less formal approach to the language), with a desire to learn about our cuisine. French Tuition with Cultural Visits (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Advanced++)
This has been a popular course for those wishing to visit the Poitou-Charentes area and further afield, whilst improving the language.
Visits are planned every afternoon and we take care in organising every detail concerning the excursions, with booking museum visits and boat trips (all inclusive in course)
Note: Reasonable fitness is required, as some walking is required.

Our Charente Poitou is a mine of Romanesque architecture and you will be enchanted with the many different aspects of the region.
